Youth 14-19 years old (age as of June 16, 2025) are eligible to submit an ORIGINAL entry on the subject HOW HEROES FROM HISTORY INSPIRE ME TO LOOK UNTO CHRIST –choose your entry to be an ESSAY or ARTWORK – entries must follow the guidelines. INSTRUCTIONS & SUBJECT: Ponder the scripture, “Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not.” Doctrine & Covenants 6:36. Read about early members of the Church of Jesus Christ from the 1800s. Write an original essay or create a physical art piece with the theme HOW HEROES FROM HISTORY INSPIRE ME TO LOOK UNTO CHRIST. Submissions to explain and represent how the people from Church history in the 1800s encourage and inspire you to “Look unto Christ; doubt not, fear not.” Many early members of the Church faced monumental challenges and opposition as they joined the Church of Jesus Christ. Today, we look to these people with wonder and we often think of and talk of them as “heroes from history” as we see how they learned to “look unto Christ” at all times.
