10th Annual Twelve Days of Christmas PAST – Re-cast for 2020! December 1-12, 2020
In spite of 2020’s “issues,” let’s all get into the spirit of Christmas! Read our inspiring stories gleaned from Church History’s Christmases Past then enter our daily prize contest by commenting (available each day) to answer a question about the story. Exciting daily prizes are from our travels both near & far!
The daily stories will be posted on our website BLOG from December 1 thru December 12. We have gathered our favorites together from our previous years’ contests to “re-cast” the past, yet again. You’re sure to enjoy them!
TO ENTER THE CONTEST, simply answer the story’s question by commenting on our BLOG or our FACEBOOK page’s daily post about that day’s blog story.
- All comments will be entered into a random drawing for a daily prize bundle (valued $40-$140/day!).
- “Sharing” our Facebook posts on your own page will also earn you another entry into the daily drawing. If you haven’t already done so, join us now on Facebook–it’s free! Click on this link to find our Facebook Page.
- Answers and the daily winner will be posted on our BLOG and FACEBOOK page the following morning. Prizes must be claimed within 30 days.

Our hope is that this activity, with a peek into Christmases Past, will help us all to slow down and appreciate the Christmases of simpler times and to learn something new to inspire us this holiday season. 12 Days of Christmas Past, 2020 Rules:
Entrants must be 18 years or older to participate and must be a resident of the United States. Daily prize bundles and winners will be notified via our website BLOG and on the Mormon Heritage Association FACEBOOK page (the morning after each story is posted). Daily prize winners must provide their address for mailing their prize OR prizes can be picked up at MHA West Jordan Utah office, by appointment (scheduled, safe, porch pick-up)–prizes picked up at MHA office will receive an additional prize valued at $10. If no response from winner(s) to claim any prize within 30 days, prize is null and void. MHA ensures privacy with all contact information. One comment per person, daily, on the website BLOG or FACEBOOK post is considered an entry into the daily prize bundle random drawing; an additional entry can be gained by “sharing” our daily post on your own Facebook profile. There is potential of receiving a total of 2 entries for each daily prize bundle, per person (commenting & sharing).
Daily prize bundles are valued at $40-140.
Entries must be received by 10pm MST, daily through the contest period, for eligibility. We cannot be responsible for any computer, online, telephone, or technical malfunctions that may prevent or postpone your entry’s receipt. Your entry will become our property once we receive it, and it will not be returned in any format. Your odds of winning a daily prize bundle will depend upon the number of eligible entries received that day (estimated chance of winning daily prize: 1 in 30). By entering, you agree to abide by the terms of these official rules and by the decisions we make regarding this contest, which are final and binding on all matters. My childhood hero was not just one but two; my parents. They made Christmas memorable for me and my two sisters. My Dad especially loved Christmas, and couldn’t wait to decorate the tree with the hanging silver icicles and bubble lights that were so popular during that time. My Mom made the most delicious fudge and cookies. Because of them, we looked forward to the ward Christmas program, where we would enjoy learning about the birth of the Savior. He was as much a part of our Christmases as the gifts and goodies and is my greatest
hero.
I think my most favorite Christmas’s have happened when I put someone else’s needs ahead of my own. Seeing the happiness in someone’s face when they receive the perfect gift is better than any other feeling in the world. I loved this story of sacrifice for the happiness of another.
